Blood of Mehran: A True to History Tale!
Blood of Mehran is heavily inspired by Middle Eastern history and mythology. This indie hack-n’-slash title is full of unforgettable places, stories, and people. All of these are based on the authentic history and folklore of the East. We looked back at real ancient civilizations to design a fantastical trip through time. Let’s see how old cultures helped make Blood of Mehran!
A City From the Heart of History

Blood of Mehran’s main location is the city of Aura, a city based on archaeological findings, carvings, and paintings of Mesopotamia. As you most probably know, Mesopotamia is one of the oldest human civilizations that played a huge part in the flourishing of culture in the Middle East. The developers have traveled to historical cities and studied old Eastern architecture to make Aura feel real. The buildings, streets, and markets of the city are all based on how people lived back then.
The Folklore Connection

The story of Blood of Mehran is also heavily inspired by old folk stories. The developers took ideas from the legendary One Thousand and One Nights to create a fantastical, novel, and beautiful tale. These stories are full of adventure, magic, and brave heroes. The protagonist of the game, Mehran, is a clear nod to the righteous heroes of these stories. The narrative features themes of love, revenge, and justice. Mehran is a strong and brave warrior and mostly tries to do the right thing. However, in BoM, the writers have added complex, innovative twists to make the story feel fresh and new.
The Hero’s Journey

The people in Blood of Mehran are also reminiscent of historical and fantastical Eastern characters. The developers conducted extensive research to learn how they dressed, fought, and lived; to create an authentic and accurate experience of the old East for the players. Mehran’s overalls, weapons, and even the way he carries himself are based on warriors in the Middle East long ago. Even the villains are inspired by rulers and kings from history and folklore
Music of the Ages
The music in Blood of Mehran is crucial to the whole experience. The artists have used classic instruments like the reed and fiddle and combined their sounds with innovative new ones. The music and sound design play a key role in creating an authentic Mesopotamian atmosphere.
A Historical Revenge!
The developers used real history to make Blood of Mehran more immersive and interesting. It helps the game feel epic and gives you a chance to learn about a different time. You could say that BoM is not just a game, it’s a trip back in time!
Blood of Mehran will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store soon!
